One scope note on that. The 403s mean the prices above are App Store figures and the specifications in the strip at the top of this page (model name, context window, knowledge cutoff) are not covered by the same check: they come from this site's quarterly spec table and could not be re-read from OpenAI on 2026-08-18. Treat the prices as verified and dated, and the specs as approximately current.

The practical consequence is a $1,200 a year fork. Someone who reads "Pro is $200" and upgrades expecting the top tier gets it. Someone who reads the same line, sees a $100 option at checkout and assumes it is a discount has bought a quarter of the capacity they read about. The multiplier is the product.
